As you know, I love to skip the small talk and have deep conversations with my guests.
But to do that, I need to create a safe space to have these big talks.
Coming up on the podcast, I'm going to open up this safe space beyond my famous guests
to people who don't often get a chance to share their story in a safe place without
People who are often ignored, misunderstood or even ridiculed.
Like the recent chat I had with a former male escort.
When I first meet the client, everything's okay.
It's what goes through my mind before I meet the client.
It's the sheer anxiety and the nerves and the need to do a good job.
That's what goes through it beforehand.
That's after all the primping and preening and all the meticulous looking after myself,
things that I do.
When I meet the client, I'd say probably 50% of the nerves just drop.
I just see who I'm going to meet, I give her a big hug and then we just talk to each
other and we just become friends.
That's how it works.
So ultimately it's relief.
The booking has actually started basically.
Or an ex-heroin addict who landed in Thailand's most notorious prison.
It all comes down to the fact of me trying heroin when I was 15 years old.
That really was the beginning of the end for me.
Through trying it for the first time, I became addicted to it.
You know, a few years down the track, I ended up being arrested by police on drug charges.
I went to prison when I was 20.
Once I was released, I went to Thailand to be with my then boyfriend.
Still addicted to heroin, still doing illegal things, which once again led me to be arrested
when I was 30 in Thailand.
Yeah, sentenced to 31 years and sent to Thai prison to start my sentence.
And all of this has come from being addicted to heroin.
I want to hand the microphone over to people who don't get that opportunity.
And I want to know who you would like to hear from.
You know I'm a big listener, so I'm all ears.
All you need to do is to click on the link in the show notes and tell me who you'd like
me to offer the big talk microphone to and stand by for my new series, Safe Space.
It's going to be in the podcast feed.
