Hi, I'm Sally Patton, host of 15 Minutes with the Boss,
a new podcast from the Australian Financial Review.
Each week I'll sit down with one of the country's top CEOs
and ask them to share all the valuable advice and wisdom
they've gained during the course of their careers.
We'll hear stories of success and failure
and everything in between.
I was a chartered accountant and went to London with PwC.
I got told I was on the Partner Program and I went home
and I thought, I don't want to be on the Partner Program
and I went back the next day and resigned
and took nine months off.
They'll share some of their wins.
So I did something I think was a little bit courageous,
perhaps naive, even stupid.
I went to the Boss and highlighted that we were taking
unreasonable and unnecessary risk
and that was the pivotal moment where my career changed.
Once you realise that you're never going to be that Zen person,
there are bumps in the road, then resilience comes from
your ability to respond, not to react.
Give you tips on how to get more out of your day.
I'm famous for deleting emails
and I actually actively tell people not to email me.
It gives me hours back in my day.
And they'll ponder out loud how they expect technology
to affect their businesses.
I think generative AI will fundamentally change many parts
of our society and absolutely the workforce.
So, from September 26, join us each Tuesday
for 15 minutes of career advice and insights
from Australia's most senior leaders.
It's 15 minutes you can't afford to miss.
